'A SURPRISINGLY GOOD PERFORMER AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE'

Strengths:
Excellent range (delivering more in pictorial terms than the numbers would suggest) Very sharp at all focal lengths and apertures wider than f11. Lightweight and quite compact with a removable hood. Autofocus seems reliable and fast.
Surprisingly easy to handhold at shutter speeds you would never usually dream of using

Weaknesses:
Modest aperture and corners are slightly soft when wide open at 10mm. Build is OK but not spectacular. There is some vignetting but landscapes and moody shots seem to benefit from this. DxO software has a module that completely corrects this as well as the usual barrel distortion noticeable at the wide end.

Overall:
Much better than its price would suggest. A lens that will add dynamic interest and a certain wow factor to many a photographer's work - and all without costing the earth or weighing too much.
