Our colleagues over at GadgetCentre have recently reviewed Fujifilm's new FinePix Z2 compact camera, awarding it 6/10, and writing: “the Z2 perfectly fills in the gap that larger models, like for example SLRs, leave in terms of practicality. The sheer speed at which you can have it turned on and taking pictures is a real winner in my book but it is let down limited shot versatility and also a price tag that sets it higher than other 5 megapixel rivals.”
The comments on the shot versatility do sound justified to me with only five scene modes (Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night Scene, Natural Light) included, when most other compacts released at the moment offer twenty modes at least, but the camera does excel in other areas, notably its speed, styling and straight forward control system.
The full review can be found here on GadgetCentre. The Z2 is available for around £180 onwards, in a dazzling four colours: white, silver, black and the quite garish red. For convenience, the specifications are included below.
