Runner Up
Tynes by Lizzie Pike
In particular, attention is due to Lizzie Pike's images - a very savvy response to the 'colour' theme, with an experimental home-studio style that has shown development to produce some quirky results.
The distortion and layers of colour take a simple concept to interesting and complex new heights.

Runner Up
Pink Sky by Tony Prower
Perhaps it just didn't look right as a thumbnail - viewed full size, there's so much presence with this image.
It's silky smooth; refined - and those foreground silhouettes just polish it off as a complete little masterpiece. Its tricky to get landscapes right - this one bangs it right on the head.

Winner
Plumes by Michael S
It may have come to be expected - amongst all the entries, this image responded to the theme in a way of its own.
Technically proficient, wonderfully captured and pin-sharp - these colourful plumes of smoke really are rather inspired. Sometimes simplicity can bring the most drama.
Many congratulations Michael - an Olympus E400 DSLR is on its way to you!
