Free tickets for the Outdoors Show

Fancy yourself as a landscape photographer? Or maybe you just love the great outdoors. Either way, you could do worse than visit the NEC between 16th and 18th of March for the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show.

You can read all the details on their site but here are a couple of highlights for photographers.

Photography workshops with Colin Prior.

Colin will be down at the Regatta Perfect Spot (no, I've no idea what this is - I'd imagine there will be signs...) a couple of times a day. One talk will be on the perfect panorama and the other will be "Making order from Chaos". This one isn't about how to find the picture you took 3 years ago in a muddy field but rather it "is a presentation designed to raise awareness of the photographic potential within the landscape and how we can turn this into great photographs".

Either way, if you're near Birmingham then it's probably worth the price of a ticket just to see his pictures. You can even bid to buy some of his images with the money going towards Raleigh International.

The British Underwater Image Festival

This is a nationwide competition in association with Dive magazine. There will be an awards ceremony but mainly it's a chance to see the winners' pictures printed big. If you're into underwater photography then this will be a great event. You can also try your hand at underwater photography in the Try Dive pool. Just make sure your camera's waterproof.

For tickets

Tickets are £12 in advance, £14 on the door for adults - cheaper for everybody else. However, we have 5 pairs to give away. Just click here for a chance to win a pair of adult tickets for any of the 3 days worth £28 a pair. Draw closes on Friday 16th February.
