In the midst of all the madness of our 24 days of prize draws it would be easy to miss our “Weather” competition. That would be a shame because there are some fabulous pictures in it - none more fabulous than the top 3, as voted by you:

Third Place
Poppins by Steve Lee
In third place “Poppins” by Steve Lee. Great capture with an even better title - I can just imagine Julie Andrews sailing over the chimneys - though I think it may have lost a couple of votes for reminding people of Dick van Dyke…

Second Place
Snow Bird by Lady D
Runner up is Lady D with “Snow Bird”. On the thumbnail this looks a pretty picture of a bird in the snow. Open it up though and you get an amazing sense of cold - snow or sleet is falling hard on the poor chap.

First Place Perthshire Storm by Rob Sutherland
But the winner is “Perthshire Storm” by Rob Sutherland. Rob has captured a brooding, menacing storm with that beautiful storm light on the landscape below it. I wouldn't even want to be out in a storm like that! I also checked out his website at http://www.alpinist.co.uk - more fantastic pictures on there.

Rob wins a 30X20 canvas print of his picture to hang on his wall and look at when he stays in because the weather's even worse!
Watch out for more quick fire competitions coming soon!
