One of the coolest gadgets from recent years has to be the USB thumb drive. Whack it in your computer and load it up with files. Take it to another computer and copy them off. Neat.
There are loads of ways you can use these in digital photography but one great one is if you pop to your local minilab. Most of them can now read USB thumb drives. Edit all your pictures, resize them for printing and load them onto a thumb drive and take them down the lab. No wasting CDs, no trusting your camera memory in their readers. Even if you don't using a mini lab they are great for moving files around and even backing up crucial pictures.
If you're going to get a USB drive - I'd highly recommend the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium. Built with a space-age “Liquidmetal” metal casing and virtually indestructable, the Cruzer Titanium sleek design is so rugged it has been tested to be crush-resistant to over 2,000 pounds of force - over two and a half times the strength of titanium alloy. With USB 2.0 connectivity (USB 1.1 compatible, too), it's so fast you'll transfer files in a flash. And you'll know when it's working because the cool blue LED is blinking. If you use a PC then you'll also find some very nice software on it the full version CruzerLock™ 2 data security software, PocketCache™ (back-up) and CruzerSync™ (Outlook & My Documents folder synchronization) software.
A fantastic stocking filler - check out SanDisk's site for more details and stockists.
