Double figures now and day 5 seems a long time ago but cast your mind back. I said that Spudz had managed to revolutionise the lens cloth into something quite amazing. Well, a company called Joby have done something similar for the humble tripod.
Tripods are great. They hold your camera steady and allow you to get some amazing pictures but the basic 3-legged design has been around for a while. OK for flat or even sloping ground - not so good for wrapping round a tree.
Step forward the GorillaPod. Three bendy legs and a platform complete with quick release plate to hold your camera. Check out the Joby website - there's really no easy way for me to explain how these work. They just work.
And with a tripod that weighs 45 grams there's no excuse for not taking it everywhere. Of course that will only hold a compact camera but there are bigger sizes available. Just amazing stuff - now there's no excuse for sloping horizons and shaky shots. Even less excuse if you click here because we are giving away 3 GorillaPods today only (and stay tuned to the site because a prize-draw for a couple of GorillaPod-SLRs may appear soon).
