Kodak have a new Bridge Camera today, the EasyShare Z710. We reviewed its predecessor the Z612 back in July and found it to be a slightly on the small and cramped side but capable of some amazing pictures in terms of image quality. The Z710 is intending to build on the positives of the Z612 with a bigger 7.1MP sensor that is claimed to be capable of huge images measuring 30x40 inches. Whether this is a viable claim and other shortcomings have been fixed remains to be seen.
In the past some Kodak cameras have been characterised by oversmoothed areas giving a slightly plastic look to the background. Hopfully this will be a thing of the past thanks to in an exclusive Colour Science imaging chip which helps to produce accurate tones and colours. Being a Bridge camera, it has a big SCHNEIDER KREUZNACH VARIOGON lens capable of 10x optical zoom but this is down slightly from the 12x zoom of the z612.
The camera has compatibility with EasyShare range of docks, printers and accessories and will be out in September for RRP £279.
