ACDSee Photo Editor

A new photo editor, designed for people just beginning to tackle the sometimes complex task of editing has been released by ACDSee Systems - the ACDSee Photo Editor.

The biggest features of the program are the How-To walkthroughs. The user chooses what they want to do, from anything as small as some red-eye correction to a project as a big as a scrapbook. The How-Tos will quickly let users learn how to use the program and its tools, rather than have them struggle in a bigger program like Photoshop and give up.

All the standard tools you expect from a photo editor are included, such as lighting adjustments, red-eye fixes, text support and batch processes. The more complex actions like vignetting are also simplified to one click. Finally, even though the software seems a little biased towards the beginner end of the market it could be worth a look for more advanced users as it offers a range of blending modes, masking and vector support.

ACDSee Photo Editor is available now from the company's website. The full version is around £40 and an upgrade is around £27 (prices have been converted from dollars).
