Samsung has announced the release of two new cameras in its popular S series range. The seven megapixel S760 and the eight megapixel S860 will be available in a choice of black, silver, pink or blue finishes from January 2008. Both are claimed to combine ease of use with a bundle of useful features at a competitive price.
Both cameras combine Samsung's image processing with the company's Intelligent Face Recognition Technology. This means the autofocus system instantaneously recognises the faces of subjects and accurately focuses on them, then the auto-exposure function takes over, setting the appropriate exposure to ensure the highest image quality.
The S760 and S860 feature a 3x optical zoom and an 2.4" LCD display. Both models also boast 11 scene modes, up to ISO100 sensitivty and digital image stabilisation technology.
The Samsung S760 is expected to retail for under £80. The price of the S860 is still to be confirmed.
