Fresh on the heels of Corel's recent release of
Paint Shop Pro Photo X2, Adobe keep the pace with the announcement of PhotoShop Elements 6.
For £70 you can grab the full programme - the new version adding Photomerge technology to the stable, allowing for the automated merging of a group of photos to generate a single final shot.
Plus you now get a “quick selection tool” that reduces the previously time consuming select-and-adjust into one single click.
Where Adobe seem to be really trying to push the sales, however, is with the simultaneous release of Premiere Elements 4 - Adobe's flagship video editing software, albeit trimmed down to the basics.
Given the rise of social networking sites of late, including the behemoth that is YouTube, more and more of us want to upload simple videos quickly and easily. Premiere Elements allows you to do just this, whilst incorporating save features to make your videos instantly “YouTube Ready” for rapid upload.
The combined PhotoShop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 comes in at a reasonable £105, or upgrade for £88.
