Corel's ever-popular PaintShopPro has been updated. Now called PaintShopPro Photo X2, the revised program now sports a wholly new Express Lab, which allows users to view and crop, rotate, apply color adjustments and perform other common tasks on large numbers of images (in a range of formats, including raw files) without having to open each image individually.
New tools include the superbly-named 'thinify' tool, which allows users to put their subjects to shed a few pounds without tears, alongside an eye drop tool that now removes bloodshot eyes from the criminally hungover and a HDR Photo Merge tool to combine photos for improved dynamic range. PSP Photo X2 also includes a new Layer Styles section, which allows photographers to easily add drop shadows or embossed looks to their work and pro photographers will love the new watermarking feature.
Corel has also moved to the increasingly popular 'graphite' interface (not unlike Adobe's Photoshop Lightroom desktop) to help pick your photographs out from the background.
PaintShopPro Photo X2 costs £79 and is available now as a download or boxed from September 14. Existing PSP owners can upgrade for £49.
