New Sony Cyber-Shot range

After something of a quiet period Sony has unveiled its range of new digital compact cameras - updating their Cyber-Shot T, W and H series with 7 new additions in total!

Starting at the top end, the new H7 and H9 (essentially updating the H2 and H5 respectively) boast 8.1megapixels, 15x stabilised zoom and HDTV output.

In the case of the H9 there is a new 'NightShot' mode for shooting in 'complete darkness' - whilst this sounds a little unlikely, it should be interesting to see what results such a feature offers, and given that infra-red technology is used it may be less far fetched than it sounds.
As is becoming the standard of 2007, both cameras come complete with face detection technology.
One of the most notable improvements is the H7's 2.5” LCD screen and the H9's super large tilting 3” LCD screen - they just keep getting bigger and better!

Both models will be out to buy from April 2007. (The image is the H7 in silver).

Next up we have the new additions to the ultra-slim Cyber-Shot range, the T20 and T100.
Again both models offer 8.1megapixels, HDTV outputand face detection technology as standard.
The main difference that you get for your money between the two is the T20's 2.5" LCD screen and 3x optical zoom, whilst the T100 takes things up a notch with its 3" LCD screen and 5x optical zoom.

Sony seem to be pressing much of the technology from their Alpha series into a sturdy all-metal case discreet enough to slip into a jacket pocket and get snap happy any time and place.

The T100 is out this month (March 2007), with the T20 following close behin in April.

Last but by no means least we have three new additions to the Cyber-Shot W series - the W200, W90 and W80. Coming out on top is the W200 with an impressive 12.1megapixels, as compared to the W90's 8.1megapixels and the W80's ample 7.2megapixels.

As we have come to expect, face detection technology comes as standard in all models, along with 3x optical zoom, image stabilisation and HDTV output.

In terms of release dates, expect the W200 to be on the market from May 2007.
The W90 is due this month (March 2007), and the W80 follows shortly after in April.
