We made it!!!
23 days and 23 prize draws down. Christmas is tomorrow and here's the last prize draw. This one will be closing at 4pm today to give us a chance to get off to the pub, err, I mean enjoy the festive season. So get in quick. We're also asking for your phone number. This isn't for anything sinister - if you're the winner I'll give you a call so that you know before Christmas day. If you don't have a phone number or don't want to leave one that's fine - you'll still have just the same chance of winning.
First of all some thank yous. When I started putting this promotion together I had no idea if we could pull it off - I don't think anything like this has been done by a camera site before. Here are some of the people who made it happen.
- Kata - who kicked it all off on day 1 and provided prizes throughout the month. Their Ergo-Tech range isn't available anywhere yet but 4 of our members have already bagged them.
-
Snapfish for their amazing generosity. “Everyone a winner” is a huge thing to promise and they made not only this possible but also gave even more prizes.
-
Ulead prizes have been scattered throughout the month and I knew they had been very generous. It wasn't until I stopped and added it up that I realised that they had given more than six hundred pounds of software.
-
Gepe, Spudz (courtesy of LlamaPhotos) and GorillaPod who all breathed a new breath of cool into the camera market.
-
Adobe are a huge firm and we're not yet a huge website. They still handed over a copy of Photoshop Elements and trusted us to deliver.
-
SanDisk are always very generous to our readers - remember not to drive over their products in a Saab and they will serve you well for years.
-
Campkins are the oldest established independent camera shop in the UK - but that didn't stop them helping out with some excellent high tech prizes.
-
Colour Confidence deserves a special mention. I had seen them at shows and love their products but never talked to them about the site at all. One email showing them the community we are building here was enough - they stepped right up to the plate and donated £70 worth of colour calibration kit.
-
And Olympus. I've been teasing people all month saying that we had something big for Christmas Eve - read on for one very cool prize.
-
But of course in true Oscars style the biggest thanks is to you. We set this up to build one huge crazy promotion and get people talking about the site. I knew it was going to be big but I've been staggered by the response. I hope you'll all stick around, post your pictures in the gallery, hang out in the forums and watch as we become the biggest digital camera site - as well as the best! And don't think this is the end. Our “Extreme” photo competition is continuing and watch out in the new year - we have more competitions and some more wonderful prizes. You think this year has been good - you ain't seen nothing yet.
OK, enough of the waffle - what have ThinkCamera got for us today? How about…an Olympus mju 725 waterproof and shockproof camera? Of all the things we saw at Photokina this was one of the coolest.
Of course it's a smart 7MP camera with the beautiful styling you associate with the mju range. It was just a surprise when the lady demonstrating it dropped it on the floor. Then picked it up and started taking pictures underwater.
It's waterproof to 5m, it will survive a drop of 1.5m without damage and it's a tiny gorgeous metal bodied marvel. It's £300 worth of quality camera - and it's our prize today. Click here to enter and enjoy.
Merry Christmas from ThinkCamera.com!
