Obviously not content with the kudos offered by teaming up with us for our monthly join prize, SanDisk have joined up with Phase One to offer a full version of its Capture One LE software on its Extreme III CompactFlash cards.
Capture One is workflow software for photographers shooting in RAW, and the linkup is intended to encourage users to shoot in RAW. The Extreme III cards can handle the increased file sizes and shooting in RAW is a big improvement over JPEG. We are planning to do an in-depth feature on RAW photography soon, but in a nutshell it gives more control in post production - control over contrast, sharpening and colour spaces to name a few. This means it's easier to make your photos perfect and gives you chance to show off your creativity and talent. Capture One LE is an ideal piece of software to work with RAW files.
It comes free on Extreme III CompactFlash cards and works on both Mac and PC. The memory card includes two software activations so you can use it on multi-computers. The software is almost the price of the card (depending on where you get them) at about £66 - it's sold usually in dollars and euros at $/€ so this is an estimation. One last bonus is that the pack includes a voucher for a 15% discount on Capture One PRO.
The deal starts immediately, and I can see only one problem with the deal - its only on CompactFlash cards, so users of SecureDigital and MemorySticks may be slightly disappointed.
