Focus on Imaging kicks off at the NEC on Sunday 25th - Wednesday 28th February. We'll be reporting live from the show by the magic of the Internet using nothing more technical than a phone. OK a smart phone.
We'll be hitting the stands pretty hard on Monday and Tuesday, talking to the firms, checking out the latest goodies and generally soaking up the vibe of what's been called the biggest camera shop in Britain.
You may remember all the fun we had a Photokina back in October. There we were seeing new kit and then trekking up to the press lounge which was situated about half a mile from the action but was the only place we could get a Wi-Fi connection to post articles. This time we are going to use a little bit of magic, err technology to get pictures from the show back to you in record time.
Here's how it works. Those nice chaps at 3 have loaned us a Nokia N73 Smart phone. This has a 3.3 million pixel camera with a Carl Zeiss Tessar 2.8 lens on it as well as being stuffed with more technology than you can shake a small stick at. I'll be taking pictures on the phone then uploading them by the phone to my account at Flickr. By the magic of the Internet, this page will automatically update as I take new pictures. You'll be able to see what's going on at the show while pretending to work at your desk! Isn't technology marvellous?
Check out the Flickr feed below (if you're checking this before Monday then you'll just see a rather dull picture of the technology we're using...)
Remember to check this article through Monday and Tuesday
