Extreme Competition - the winners | | |
We had some fantastic pictures entered for our Extreme Competition - here are the ones you voted the best 3:
 |
Third Place
Morning Dew by Geoff Matthews
An extreme close up of a single dew drop on the end of a fern frond sneaked Geoff into 3rd place ahead of some very stiff competition. I like the way he's isolated the drop here with the flat grey background. |

Second Place
Balancing Balls by James Pearce
At first glance this would be very tricky but James may have lost a vote or two by revealing there are cunning magnets involved. Is it just me that spent a while trying to see if I could spot James' reflection in one of the balls? |

First Place
Summit at Twilight by Michael Syles
Make sure you open the full size image to see just what a great picture this is. The image if full of subtle blue tones but the silhouette of the walker has just enough light to make out his face. It’s also well worth looking at Michael’s website at http://www.starstonephoto.com/. There are some beautiful images on there – make sure you check out the “pano” gallery, there’s a picture of reflected trees in Buttermere that would look great on anyone’s wall! Michael also came very close to claiming third spot too with "Checking the Map" but a stewards' enquiry put him a very very close 4th. |
Michael wins a 30X20 canvas print of his picture courtesy of Intelligence Direct.
Watch out for an amazing new competition coming soon!
