Somewhat overshadowed by the release of the Alpha 100 digital SLR (which we have on review now), there is a new compact camera from Sony - the Cyber-shot T10. The T10 is an update to the T9 that was released in January and got a quite respectable 4/5 in our ThinkCamera review.
The T9 and now the T10 are cameras that concentrate mainly on size and style over performance - the camera is credit card sized and only 21mm think. The design of the two is very similar, the only real difference being the left-hand edge of the lens cover (now a raised, brushed steel effect), the same 2.5 inch LCD is on the back, and the same 3x Carl Zeiss lens features.
The camera is pretty big on performance though, as it shares much of the T9's innards, which was rated pretty highly in the review. The biggest difference is ISO sensitivity: the T10 now offers max-ISO of 1000, the T9 has a mere 640. This is linked with the gyro-based SuperSteadyShot technology to stop camera shake, and this can be used in movies too. Other variations on the T9 include the addition of internal memory (56mb) but the camera still uses Sony's proprietary MS Duo and PRO Duo cards.
The T10 will be available in September in naturally being a style camera, it's available in black, pink, silver and white.
