If you look carefully you can just see my 27 year old son towards the bottom and left of the waterfall which gives a better perspective of the height of these falls.

Amazing, just glancing at the picture it looks like a smallish waterfall, but with your son there it give it much more perspective

Yes the smallish picture is deceptive as to the actual height, thats why i mentioned simon at the bottom -i got him to go round behind the falls so you can see how big they actually are- around 100 foot single drop- and claimed to be Britains highest unbroken waterfall. Though there is an underground falls nearby at Gaping Gill of over 300 feet (which for some reason doesnt count as its "hidden" from view from the surface lol)

Nice photo - Great Place especially after/during heavy rain.

If anyone remembers Kevin Costner's shower in Robin Hood- Prince of Theives, It was done here. Also, they used the cascading Aysgarth Falls for the fight with Little John. This is further down the Dale beyond Hawes.

Hi thanks for your comments, i hadn't realised they filmed at these falls too tho' i did know about Aysgarth Falls being used for parts of the movie.

This area is one we regularily visit during 'summer' (when we get one that is) being almost on our doorstep it makes for a pleasent day out among beautiful scenery and as a purely totally amateur photographer i take photo's  really for my own pleasure rather than for photographic competitions or any public or publishing purposes, so its nice to hear that sometimes people like them.

Great shot!  It is sort of a shame that your son is not more noticeable at first glance- most people would pass up his presence right off.  It would be pretty tuff to get it all in and his figure being larger.  I llike the prerspective of the falls the way it is now.
