I guess enough , has already been passed by, certainly for the average photographer..2mpix will give a perfectly acceptable 6x4 if the camera has a good lens, and 5mpix is quite adequate for an A4 print. I wonder how many people are actually printing out A4 size , the usual holiday prints of the "Film Erra" were seldom larger than 6x4, and with the costs of Paper & Ink etc. and the much larger file sizes, for most people it becomes something of a problem ....I actually know of people who take considerable numbers of pictures, but have still not printed any , they are still in the computers memory, where they can be looked at , rather like the Albumn of old, but if they have a HD collapse, Oh Dear !! I would think they should at least have put them onto CD's, but so far they have not got around to it, I think 10 mpix and above are really only useful in a professional environment where enlargements of small portions of the picture might be necessary....but then new products are needed to keep the tills ringing.!
