I am looking for a HIGH QUALITY A4 printer with the capability of taking memory cards direct.

Whats the best around?

Lexmark are pretty good, but despite advert above, I would personally never buy another Epson. Unless you use them every day, the ink goes dry and hardens in the jet heads. You could always use compatible cartridges of coarse, but find a good one first.

I've no idea as to which is best, but i'm highly delighted with my Canon Pixma MP610 http://www.trustedreviews.com/printers/review/2007/09/21/Canon-PIXMA-MP610/p1

 Cost approx £105.

I'm going to Retail World Rotherham tomorrow where we have Comet, Argus, Curries and PC World all trying to outdo each other on printers at the moment in one small area.

I am prepared to spend up to £200 on a really good A4 printer.

I ended up spending £99.99 on a Kodak 5300, knocked down from £149.00.

I am very pleased with the prints from this machine, even though it took an age to install. I can see why some people don't like these machines. Make one mistake in the set up sequence and you can have trouble.

But the print quality is outstanding.
