The first shot is a proper mallard drake. The second is a darned puzzle if you ask me. Probably the result of people who feed them.

I truly wish that people would not feed wild birds!

Ron, it's a joke. The bird's a cross with some local  semi-domesticated birds, Aylesbury whites or something.

They mop up anglers groundbaits and stuff from Clattercote. This is it's mate -

So, if anyone's to blame (other than it's mixed parentage) it's anglers. No-one else goes there.
