Review: iView Media Pro 3
DAM software is all about making life easier, keeping your photos together in one place and making publishing of them really simple - leaving more time for you to take photos. Media Pro 3 is a leading piece of software, but how does it fare...?

Must say that I still prefer iMatch - maybe just because I am used to it?

I prefer the way it works with folders or via the different category views and how it deals with external drives, and I especially like how it is competely compatible with Bridge in regards to labels and stars. Suppose it also helps that its about half the price of iView cheapest option.

I suppose its only major drawback is that Windows only.

If it has been a while since you last used it, look at it in its current form - its had a major update!!!!.

Yes - I used to love iMatch until I abandoned the PC and swore never to use a beige box again ;)

Last time I checked iMatch it had some very powerful features but to get the best you had to get your hands dirty with some kind of scripting language - is that still true?

It still does a lot with scripting, but have never had to go there myself. I find that it does all I need it do without having to get my hands dirty.

You should have a look since you last used it, as in its current version it is a lot more powerful, easier to use and looks a lot better than it did previously.

Its categorisation has got a lot more powerful and easier to use. It can even do automatic categorisation on XMP data etc.

It might get killed off when lightroom is fully up and running as its categorisation etc is starting to look quite interesting.
