Colin, Now you have taken these images and spent time and care stiching them into this fine panorama - what are you going to do with it.  I ask this because I have a dozen or so myself and no wall big enough to get the best out if them.

Probably the same as you this will probably not stop me taking them! Have you used a panorama or standard tripod head?

Best

Thanks for the kind comments about the shot. Like you I don't know, I only have an A4 printer so that is not an option. I just enjoyed taking it I have another with snow on the tops of the mountain and no where to put that either.

I will definitely continue to take them and in fact was shown a vertical panorama of a forest yesterday and that is now on my to do list. I only have a standard tripod so nothing too fancy and used Photoshop CS3 to stitch this one together.

Just a thought about printing panoramas; have you explored the 'User Defined' paper settings of your printer.  I have used Epson printers for a number of years and even the older A4 models could produce around 1100mm in length (or height as it is set).

A roll of A4 paper is not so expensive.  Without a roll paper holder I would recommend cutting the paper to just over the length of the print, or getting the Meccano or Lego out and making your own rollers to support the paper on its roll.

The advantage of cutting to length is that when it goes wrong, you only have to extract 1m of paper rather than most of a 10m roll, not many printers can reverse the paper out.

If you feel like upgrading to a bigger printer the Epson R2400 is a fine machine, have a look at my forum note and don't be disappointed if it appears a little tempremental to start with.  Shop around for the prices.

Thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately I use an HP photo printer and they won't handle roll paper due to the forward loaded paper (paper has to go through a full 180 degrees) so it would be a real challenge to get it to work. I am looking to change my printer in the near future (once I am out of ink) and I will certainly have a look at the Epson.
