I've been intending to send my old 10D to the states for iR conversion, but never quite got around to sending it. However just over a week ago I was informed about a comapany in Norfolk that carry out IR/UV conversions so I arranged to send it to them "Advanced Camera Services".
Last Monday I parcelled up my battered old 10D and sent it for conversion. Wednesday I received a phone call informing me that the camera was ready for dispatch at a cost of £214 approx £60 cheaper than sending it to the States. Ihad to request that they delay posting the camera, as I would be away for a few days.
Today, Tuesday I duly received my camera, I had to double check the serial number as I looked as though they had sent me a new camera, but yes it was the original.
Although the weather was totally unsuitable for IR photography and also the wrong time of year I went into the back garden at my sister-in-laws and fired of a shot.
The embedded image is the result, must say I'm over the moon with the service of this company and also the resulting image. It was far to cold, damp and miserable to spend any time on composition, just a click of the shutter button, then back inside to sit on the Aga for 5 minutes.
