Guilty!  .....Glad you bought it, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it.  It's tiny isn't it?  The only problem I find with it is that I keep holding it on the focus ring, and then wonder what is that thing moving on my fingers!!!.... Weird or what?

It sure is tiny..it makes me realise how heavy my other lens is....been having a play with it and it looks like fun......

Harry..I wouldn't even think of going anywhere unless you have a good pair of wellies and a waterproof camera...

Hi guys..I'm here again..

I really do think my camera is shot...I cannot take a damn thing thats sharp....It will maybe take an image sometimes thats ok then its as if it really can't be bothered and we go for the soft focus option again.

Could it be wearing out ?? Do they do such a thing or do they just die ?

Also a couple of times its come up with some kind of error(can't tell you what 'cos I was in the middle of a portrait shoot)and just fiddled till it came back ok....I think it's terminal.......

HELP ...!

Sharon,

Try cleaning the lens contacts on the camera. (carefully!)  If you remove the lens and look in the camera you can see at the top (under the flash) about 8 copper contacts. Clean them with a lintfree cloth.(basically to get rid of grease residue)  On the lens you find pins, be careful not to bend them, and you better leave them alone, although it could be that one or two are bend or broken. It sounds to me that that might cure your problem.

Thanks for that Simon..unfortunately it hasn't made a bit of difference.'I've also restored back to factory settings as you suggested last time..It really is terminal....

Sharon, are you sure it's not your new lens that's causing the problem? Maybe atrip back to where you bought the lens is in order, at least they can try  a new lens to see if that's the problem

Harry..sorry for not being a bit clearer...My nikon lens is at nikon..when I took it back to jessops(along with my camera)the guy in the shop took a few pics with it and said it didn't seem right so off to nikon it went..Maybe he should have listened to me when I said I wasn't sure if it was the lens or the camera..the lens was 6 months old and still under warranty so that was the easy option I suppose.Anyway I've tried various lenses and get similar results with them all...just not sharp enough anymore..or maybe I just need new glasses...![

Sharon,

The loss of sharpness is that evident through the viewfinder or after you have taken a picture? I am just thinking about the diopter setting for the viewfinder?

Show/hide user stats

Simon..

It's after the picture is taken..Its the actual pic that is soft

Sharon

Well it sounds like the camera, but I am not convinced. You do not shoot in Portrait mode are you? Or have set by accident some settings in menu to less sharpness?
Show/hide user stats

If only Simon...I have been round and round the menu and I can't find anything..I'm going to camera club tonight so I'll take it with me and let someone else have a look...thanks for all your help,I really do appreciate you trying to help me..I hope some one will be able to look and say ...thats whats wrong....

maybe......

If not then I will have to have a D300.....

Well you missed a super lunch at the "Hut" and as you must be well aware it was a fabulous day.

I've just put a pano up, two portrait orientation stitched, the full size Jpg weighs in at 16mb

The wine was great, but could have done with Simon being there to drive me home
