Hello. I've just bought a EOS5 with. http://www.tradecamerasonline.com/ I ordered it last week, and they've not really been very forthcoming with information about a delivery date. To be fair, they did say up to 10 working days for delivery but as the days grind by I cant help but think have I made a big mistake. Something about them just dosent seem right. So I'm hoping somebody on here can put me out of my misery who has had dealings with them.... EEEEK!!!!

Have just been checking for reviews on this company, but there does not appear to be any. Presumably you paid by credit card, if so then there should be no problem. An EOS 5? Did you mean an EOS 5D? if so there's something very strange about the price of £1,169.56 Inc VAT

eos5d with lens kit. for 1689.99 as i'm sure your all well aware its being superseded by the mark 2 so I thought that if they had a surplus then £150-£200 less than others seemed legit. they've just been in touch after my prompting and said delivery will now be monday or tuesday. i'm still not convinced but i'm in a suck it and see situation.

Hopefully all will be well Paul

Just looked them up with Companies House. All seems in order, but they are a very new company (17th March this year) and no accounts have been posted as yet. HQ - TRADE CAMERAS LTD SUITE 72 CARIOCCA BUSINESS PARK 2 SAWLEY ROAD MANCHESTER LANCASHIRE UNITED KINGDOM M40 8BB . Don't know if that's any comfort to you, but had they have been set up on the 15th of March I could have said - beware the ides of March. At least they have a SafeBuy certificate, if that's of any use. Hope it goes well.

cheers woody, i really don't know what to make of them, they respond to my messages fairly promptly but are clueless in their replies. Normally along the lines of. 'Our system is down and our despach team are working around the clock to catch up with demand' I'm not being funny but how many days does it take to put a camera in a box and call parcel force. Awnser.= so far. 13

To Woody and Harry, Well both, the Camera arrived!!!! To be honest I've been shitting my pants over this(never order anything online after going to the pub!) and yes stupidly i used a debit card, never again..... I now own a credit card because of this and have even started smoking again! It was a learning curve, but luckily for me I didn't get burnt. So trade Cameras are ok, but they are also VERY VERY slow at delivery and are really crap at customer communication.

Pleased to hear that all ended well. You now have one super camera, so go enjoy yourself

 |
Glad it finaly arrived can understand how you were feeling about it Have fun

Perhaps with them being a fairly new company and just an internet trader, they may not keep stock of the less popular and/or pricey items. That being so, they probably had to wait for delivery. Frustrating but common. Two tips. Give up smoking ... again, you'll need to in order to buy more lenses. And give up drinking, it obviously makes you do daft things.

I, too have ordered a product from them in the past few days (Nikon SB-800) and was becomming increasingly concerned about their legitimacy! I was even considering heading to my local barclays branch on monday to initiate a visa chargeback This is great news, I'm sure you're feeling very relieved! (i spent a hell of a lot less than you and yet have been worrying like mad i can only imagine how you must have felt!) Regards, Nathaniel!

as i said , they came up with the goods. it 'appears' to me they source the products when they've been ordered from other outlets hence the delay. i've been in touch with them since my camera arrived and they took on board my recommendations and are looking into a better way of keeping customers informed.

Congrats Paul. I know that "shitting your pants feeling" all too well. I bought a £300 lens from ebay from someone whose spelling was bad (often a bad sign) and ebay closed his account the day after he said he'd sent the lens, confirming he was dodgy. I'd resigned myself that I'd just lost £300, but then the lens arrived and it was fine. I don't think my blood pressure has every recovered though.

OOPs Just ordered a Nikon SB-900 flash fro them. They now say they can't deliver until Decmber 18th - already been waiting 10 days. Have asked for my money back - what a crap outfit. Roger Richards

i think there biggest problem is not being realistic with delivery times. If you cant get something on time tell the customer. If you have to source it elsewhere tell the customer. Thats all I want to know. I'd have been happy with proper e-mails replies stating delivery delays instead of some poxy one line misspelt reply 'will try for next Friday or early next week' when they say they have stock!
