This is excellent the colours are fantastic. I love how the trees frame the main subject of house and Loch, fantastic refelection, great detail and DoF front to back.

It was a beautiful day, it was so bright with no wind, do not get too many days like it in Scotland. I must admit that I really like it, is that vanity?

This is another nice shot, Bill, with lots of possibilities.

Why don't you post them with a few more pixels? It would be nice to see them in their fullest glory.

Well, as much as the site will allow, that is.

Does this house have some significance?

No, no significance, it was a focal point on the other side of the loch. My pictures are more about luck than judgement and I am sometimes surprised at how they turn out. I do not know how to post with more pixels, I use easy thumbnails to reduce it so that it will be accepted.

It looked familiar, Bill. I thought it could have been part of the Balmoral Estate, but it also reminds me of another place I've seen that belongs to some Scottish laird, he was featured in some fly fishing programme once. Perhaps there's a lot very similar.

Photoshop Elements 6 (and I believe 7) has a "SAVE FOR WEB" option that allows you to reduce the image and tells you the finished size before you save it. When you do save it, it identifies it as a copy usually so you don't overwrite the original. Very useful along with all the other tools from Elements.

There's also Microsoft's Office Picture Manager, but you would have to guess how many pixels to reduce it to before saving.

Nice works though.

The house is called Forest Lodge and is on the old military road built in the 18th century from Bridge of Orchy, the loch is Tula. When we were there the fish were rising and my friend who is an avid angler maintains that they were just teasing him because the fishing season is over.

I don`t have elements but will have a look at microsoft and see if I can make it work. I am not too hot on any kind of processing my pictures, i use Picasa thats all even though I do have photoshop cs2.  Thanks for taking a look and your comments.
