I`m looking for a spare non-Nikon battery for the D300, I believe one was recently tested in one of the monthlys but can`t remember which one it was, it was as good as the Nikon one only half the price at around £20?, does anyone know which this was???

I don't know, I tried several, but they all refused to work correctly on my D300. I stick to the originals. On my D70 I use all sorts and they all work, but I would be very carefull with the D300.

I have bought spare batteries for my Olympus DSLRs from a company on the web www.digi-quick.co.uk  all of their batteries seem to be priced well below half the price of original  equipment = I find they don't hold their charge for quite as long, but i have a couple of spares in my bag all the time
