Hi I am just starting out in the photography world. I am looking to get started in portrait photography. I purchased a Canon Rebel Xti and I have the standard kit lense. I am trying to find out what agood lense would be to take good portraits as well as what lighting I should purchase. Can any of you help?? Thanks Trina
You could start by using available light and a reflector- more natural looking portraits.
Your kit lens (I'm assuming it's the 18-55?) should do well for starters! The logical step from there would be something like the superb Canon 70-200-there's FOUR different models of this lens-get the best one you can afford!- Or you could get the other "kit" lens- the 55-250- a good lens but not in the same league as the afore mentioned.
