A good composition, but perhaps a longer exposure would have made the scene a more atmospheric one? The water cascading on the left also look a little strange, almost as if there's a bit of camera shake going on. Yet the exposed rock on the right is nice a sharp.

Was it an awkward angle?

Thanks for your comments - I'm a beginner at this so any help and advice is appreciated.  I liked the contrast between the sharpness of the rock and the soft, almost cobweb appearance of the water.  Couldn't get a better angle as I'd no wellies with me!

Ah, no wellies! Well that would explain it!

Yeah - the water does look like cobwebs. Not noticed that until you mentioned it. Its also almost like a painting... Maybe a watercolour in style? (No pun intended!) Like the water detail has been brushed-in.

I think these water shots go in phases. Once upon a time, they used to look like frozen water with only a slight blur, then they went for seconds long 'sheets of silk'. Personally I like a bit of balance (water should look like water) and I think you got it almost right here.

Yes this is a bit soft in the corner, but there's a welly-related reason for that. Next time, bring waders!
