Does any one have any views or experience on the best digital 'compact' camera for Super Macro shots of say 10cm closeness. Needs to cost less than £100 preferably.

Thanks.

When I saw your post I was going to suggest my camera which can take a Super Macro as close as 1Cm (not 10 note) but I notice that you have said compact. I use the Fuji S9500 and the Super Macro is fabulous but it's more a bridge camera and a bit more than you want to pay.

But I've seen fab macros from lots of other Fuji's so I'm sure you'll find one in that range.

Thanks AyJayEl.

I've had a good look/search around and will probably go for a Olympus Camedia C-370 Zoom. Has a good write up on Super Macro's and it's cheap (£40-£70) - will do the job.

I don't think you will go far wrong with that Dodge!

my old sony 717 was good for close macro stuff and you could probably get one now for about £100

Fuji S7000 worked really well for me

If you are unsure about which product is best check read expert reviews. Using PriceGrabber.com (http://www.pricegrabber.com/info_expertreviews.php/masterid=22720937)
I came across a cool site that list all expert reviews for a product in a single page. I hope this helps:http://www.smartratings.com/photography/digital_cameras.

Best one that has passed across my desk is the Ricoh Caplio R5.

Maybe out of your budget at about 160ish but the price should plummet now the R6 has been announced.
