I am confused!, to which cable I require for shooting babies?. I am trying to throw rattles around to make them smile, and make strange faces ( nothing new in that!), so I am back and forth to the tripod to check focus, when suddenly they have rolled around giggling and I have missed the blessed thing,

Just a little cable, may make life a bit easier from the wheelchair, but I don't know which one.

D70 & S3 pro

Any advice appreciated...........:)

you don't need a cable - you need a radio trigger unit - try the flash centre or calumet.

Do you mean a cable to trigger the flash or one to trigger the camera?

If it's the flash then what Paul said ;) - if it's the camera you need an ML-L3 infra red remote for the D70 (there's a different wired remote for the D70S). S3 has a 10 pin remote socket (like proper Nikons) so you can use an MC-30.

Alternatively wire them into your laptop and use Nikon Camera Control Pro (though check it supports the Fuji) via a USB lead.

Apologies guys! Trigger the camera, I have a radio trigger for the flash.

Thanks

Wire them into my lappy?, how do I do that JR? Via my firewire?

Ahh, sorry ... I see it's a shutter trigger you need and Jonathans the nikon man for that!
... I thought you meant you were trying to avoid using cables in case you tripped over them and smashed your camera - I did this once so be careful running back and forth with cables attatched.

Thanks for the advice Paul. Have to watch my feetsies for tripping lots, as have no feeling in them, so don't feel the cables if I'm standing on em!!. So before the shutter cable, I purchased the trigger. safety 1st:)

Cheers

Jonathan...........on the for sale link, the select for category wont open, so unable to list monopod wanted.
Can't see a "contact us" link either, am I going slightly mad!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you find the for sale link? I thought i'd got rid of that...

"My articles", allows me the option to sell or buy!! The link is in there, except it doesn't open:):)

Is there a "contact us" link Dave???
Hmm, there should be a contact us link at the bottom of the page but I can't find it.

I'll have a word with tech people, but until then editor@thinkcamera.com will do the job.

As for the second hand section, we took it out... I guess you can't get rid of something forever can you?

Cheers Dave, sorry to be a pain in the butt!! Just thought when I was trying to contact yourselves about secondhand, where's the link?........Ach, I'll just shove it here, someone will find it:):)

Alison rather than throwing rattles about put a rattly toy on a stick and line like a fishing rod. You'll never lose it, you can move it to where you want the kiddie to look and you can surprise them (or scare the wits out of them like I did the first time I used it :) ) by getting the toy (soft is probably best) to swing up to their face and then away again.

Early learning has some fab musical rattles (bells) that you can put round your wrist like a bracelet. Then you have your hands free too.
