Opinions, views, user experience on this lens that I'm considering to go with my 400D.

Thanks.

Don't really shoot wide-angle but a close friend of mine does. We wondered about the Sigma but, after trialing it for a day, decided the Tokina 12-24mm was a much nicer lens, both in build and image quality.  This was on a Nikon camera but I'm assuming the lenses are similar on Canon.

Although more expensive the Canon one is better than the Sigma & Tokina in that it's less prone to Chromatic Abberation and also performs better aginst the light (less prone to flare)

Don't know about with a Canon but I have this lens with my Nikon..I also know a few others who have the same lens and haven't heard a bad thing about it...One person I know that uses it regularly is always winning stuff with his images and sells a lot too so it must be pretty good.I think its always the same thing...Some like it,some don't...Its a good lens for what it costs..

I have got it, on my Nikon, No problems. They are all high quality lenses, Tokina, Canon, Sigma wide angles have been around for a while and been extensively tested. They are all slightly different performance wise, ones weakness is another lens strength. The camera you use has to be taken into account, the D300 for example has got rid of chromatic abberation to a huge extend within its processing. If price is part of the selection criteria, the Sigma is hard to beat.

I have a Canon 400D and the Sigma 10 to 20mm lens. I find it really good and hard to beat price-wise and I would recommend it.

I love my sigma 10-20mm lens. I had wanted a wide angle for years and after shopping around and speaking with a few people decided this was the best bang for my buck and have not been disapointed. I am no expert at judging these things but do find it gives great sharp images. Some reveiws have said its good for full body portraits but I'm not convinced of this as it distorts features, as you would expect from any wide angle lens I guess. I use it on my canon 40D.

Yup a great lens, I use it on  D300 too. Use it stopped down f8 and above, don't point it at the sun - you will get CA - BIG time

Good for interior shots and landscapes - of freaky close ups to get a bit or distorsion in at 10mm.

 It's a good lens.

I have it and use it often. I like it and use it on a Canon 40D. Would I recomend it "YES" I would it's a nice lens and if it's the image that matters and not the name then this is a great lens.

I just bought one , mainly on recommendations from other sites , forums etc - for me good value compared to the Zuiko equivalent [waiting for some time out at work to use it though!] I'll post something in the near future
