 PENTAX K200D

#Who has bought one of these. On paper it looks the best of the bunch. But is it?

Over to you.

Not a bad choice - af could be a bit swifter though. I've been an A-mounter for quite some years since film days with my old Minolta, thru the the digital 5D, now A200 and A300 Sonys, so in terms of bangs for bucks, can't find anything to match these two at £299 and £349...

A friend has the A200 and she got it with lens for even less than that (£279 IIRC) and it is an excellent camera BUT I prefer my Canon 20D. The Nikon D40 is also very good I had a play with one recently, excellent photos but a bit small for my hands. My brother in law has a K10D and I must admit I wan't that impressed with it the 200 maybe better though.

Thanks for the response guys.

At the moment Jessops has it for £399 after cashback from Pentax. Has anyone heard of it being sold for a cheaper price elsewhere?

I bought a Canon 400d dslr.  It's my first dslr, and am loving it.  Hasn'r let me down yet.  Although I thik that the kit lens that comes with it could be better.  Got in Argos for £399 with £45 cash back from Canon, total cost = £355.00.  Think it was a bargain.

I just managed to pick up the K100D and it appears to be a good camera. Images are OK but battery life is a bit short when you are using flash or leaving the shutter open long periods of time. The good thing about it however is that the shake reduction is built into the camera so you can get SR with all lenses. Another is that the focus mechanism is in the body too, so the lenses are lighter.

That all said, until I get use to it, its not a mark on my S5600...
