I'm after a waterproof digital camera, only after a cheap one really: i'll be using it when i'm canoeing so I wont have time to set any shots up properly - point and click all the way baby!

Any one got any suggestions?

What camera have you got at the moment? If its a Nikon there's almost certainly a waterproof case to go with your model. Its probably the same with the other big camera makers as well. Cheaper than getting a new camera!

Angus, have you thought about the Olympus 720SW thats about to be released? (There's an article on it at http://www.thinkcamera.com/news/article/mps/UAN/25/v/1/sp/)

A waterproof camera that looks quite good and has decent features too. Although at £300 i'd be loathe to risk it. If you're after point and click, get a waterproof instant, thats what i've done in the past

Hi Angus, I've bought the Pentax W20 a month ago and I'm very satisfied with it. I'm a kayakist (and yachtsman) and this is a very user-friendly camera. Menu's are self-explanatory. Fits snugly in the breast pocket of your PFD without any extra precautions. As regards image quality, I have not been disappointed yet. Even nighttime video shots turned out fine. Battery capacity is good even with flash, so you can get outdoors for longer periods without having to worry over charging the battery. Camera isn't very expensive either.

We're hoping to get the new mju 735 in for test soon. Waterproof and shockproof it should be great for canoing/kayaking. A little pricey but keep your eyes on our competition pages and you never knwo what might happen.....
