My wife has one of these, and takes it caving with her ...where it is subjected to some pretty severe conditions ... as it gets cold, rubbed and bashed against rocks ... with the added pressure of a body squeezing against it ... and gets the odd dunking when it goes through a sump or two. With it'scompact size, it essentially gets put in a pocket, and she can then forget about when actually caving right up to the point at which she wishes to use it.
I admit that the case now looks a little battered ... but the lens is covered by a shutter when it is off, and the rear screen is standing up remarkably well.
It also takes some reasonable pictures ... certainly given the pitch dark that it encounters in the depths of the earth.
It is the only compact ... indeed camera ... that anybody has dared to take caving without it being shrouded in added protection as it passes through the cave system ... and is gaining favour amongst the other cavers as a consequence.
It is indeed a tough little beast.
