Easyshare was listed in the standfirst, but I have updated it to be included in the title - just to make it clear that it's part of the Easyshare range.
As for the review - it's a standalone review, so it's not distinctly a comparison against any other cameras. Saying that, however, what you say is most probably true - judging from the image quality issues of the Z812 you are probably best to go elsewhere.
You can get a Z812 IS for £190-200 no problems. Other competitors running in the 8mp 12x optical zoom category worth a look in (but all more expensive):
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 (or FZ30), Nikon Coolpix 8800, Canon Powershot S5 IS...
Or you could pick up a Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd (with 18x optical zoom!) for about the same price as the Z812.
