 Hello all,
Sony - in association with ThinkCamera - is looking for three ThinkCamera regulars to discover the joys of the Sony Alpha DSLR camera system.
We will send you a Sony DSLR-A300 camera (and lens, of course) and let you play with it for a while. You, in return, will post a lot of fascinating images and write about your experiences of using this camera system in the forum. We also hope to be performing a review of the camera soon and your responses will form an additional long-term-user follow-up review.
Best of all, one of the three lucky ThinkCamera testers will get to keep their Sony DSLR-A300.
So... who wants to play?

I would love to be considered. I'm retired with plenty of time on my hands. I'm mainly into natural history, so anything I do wil revolve mainly around flowers, insects with a litlle bit of landscape. I'm now getting involved with teaching people with severe learning difficulties on how to use digital cameras and also basic editing. In particular I like the last bit, the camera would make a very useful teaching aid and would eventually become the property of the local community day centre. Harry

I also would love to be considered, as I live down in the far west lots of bucket and spade shots, with a few seascapes thrown in.

.JPG) Alan, me too please. Retired so plenty of time to get out and use it. I particularly like taking photos of people and events and given the chance I will give the camera a good workout.

Harry Shepherd you get my vote, great cause.

I'd love to give it a go: photograph low-to-the-ground pets mostly, and have been itching for an articulated LCD camera for a while which isn't as expensive as an Olympus E-3.

I'm very suprised at the very limited response to this thread, I would have thought members would have been falling head over heels for the chance to try one of these cameras out. Harry

.JPG) Harry Let's keep quiet about it and then there is a 3 in 5 chance of us getting one to try Colin

 Hmmmm, good thinking Colin Harry

Well Im too novice to be considered but I think Sony will be getting a very good all round review from those who have applied.

I am ready and waiting, with many interesting projects in the pipeline, i am sure i could make the Sony DSLR A300 shine. By Saturday, would be good,as i have four Lovely Ladies to Photograph!. St.John

Put Lesley in! Ignore her protests, she's getting better and that's all that matters.
Take me out please. Having just acquired an Olympus it's enough. I don't know about having ladies to photograph, my subjects are a little more intimidating. Unusual, but intimidating. He's nice really.

Okay, Here's the deal. In June, we will be supplying three Sony DSLR cameras to three of the people posting above - right now that means Woody, Harry Shepherd and Keith Johnson (you aren't that Keith Johnson, are you? The one that used to keep llamas and run Keith Johnson Photographic back in the 1980s? If you are, yes I was that guy from Pelling + Cross who drank your good scotch, asked your wife if she fancied a quick merger and then vomited in your icebox. Sorry). Which means one of you will get to keep their Sony DSLR. There will be more Sony DSLRs to be won soon... but more on that later. You'll get to play with these cameras for a while (at least a month) and we want you to road test them. Properly. We'll set up a regular blog space for you to tell the world what you think about the camera, and you'll have to post at least one blog a picture a week (with your own comments) while you test 'em. Within that time, you'll have to handle three assignments to show off the performance of this camera; people, places and fun. How you handle those assignments is up to you... although the foamy fun of the Sony adverts might be a good place to start (just remember to ask a grown up first before letting off the fire extinguishers). At the end of the road test, I'll pick out the best set of pictures (and ideally the most exciting and entertaining comments on the blog) and that person will get to keep their camera. If you are still interested, we'll put wheels in motion. If not, let us know ASAP on this thread so someone else can step in.

I just noticed that Woody's Olympus has given him too many cameras to play with. So that leaves one more space for the last Sony DSLR. That means it's down to Leslie, Dennis, StJohn and Colin to battle it out. So, the next one of the above to post gets the to test the camera. It's the only fair way, and if not we'll have to go to the swimsuit competition...
